About deal café

deal café is a platform that allows startups and investors to connect with one another in a matching format similar to dating apps. Users can create profiles, specify preferences, and match with potential business partners to facilitate funding conversations and investment opportunities.

Our Privacy Principles

If you decide not to read this entire Privacy Policy, we want you to walk away with a few key points about deal café's privacy practices:

1. deal café is designed to allow startups and investors to find each other based on mutual interest and compatibility for potential investment opportunities.
2. We use personal information to provide our services, to communicate about existing and new deal café features with you, and to comply with our terms and applicable laws.
3. We do not sell personal information.
4. As we do not currently have audio/video features on our App, there will be no recording of conversations. Nonetheless, it may be requested by either party during calls conducted on platforms agreed upon by both parties, such as Zoom or Google Meet. This will only be done should both parties give their explicit authorization.

Personal Information We May Collect

Here's a description of the categories of information we collect when you interact with our App, Website, or email address and examples of how we use the specific types of information. We may collect:

1. Account data, such as your first and last name, organization name, email addresses, phone number, profile pictures, user name, investment interests or startup details, funding stage, industry focus, and other information you may choose to include in your profile/bio.
2. Your contacts' phone numbers (if you choose to authorize this). To help users connect with people they know, we may offer them the option to invite colleagues or contacts to join them on deal café. When this feature is offered on our App, users can opt in to share phone numbers from their address book or add phone numbers manually.
3. Names of contacts you choose to invite to join you on the App.
4. Calendar bookings of all the meetings that are scheduled, rescheduled, or cancelled on the App.
5. Messages that are included as notes in calendar bookings or exchanged between matched users. We review the contents of these messages only if there are user reports or automated systems flags indicating a Trust and Safety violation.
6. Interests, usage, and connections, including information about your investment preferences or startup details (if you choose to add them) and how you use the App, such as the types of companies/investors you are seeking, features you use, actions you take, users you interact and connect with, and the time, frequency, and duration of your use.
